Pre-Christmas in Omaha

After getting that massive snow storm on Wednesday and Thursday we planned on driving to Omaha on Friday the 22nd. We left in the mid-afternoon and it took us almost 2 hours just to get out of the city of Denver. Roads were closed, on-ramps were blocked and once we finally got on the interstate the roads were snow covered and dozens and dozens of cars, trucks and semi trailers were in the ditches and flipped over in the medians. They were trying to get tow trucks into areas to pull vehicles out of the snow which closed down parts of the highway. It wasn't that bad for us since and once we got outside of Denver it was normal winter driving. Halfway to Omaha there was no snow at all on the ground. The weather was very nice for the entire time we were in Omaha.
