I declare independence from my hair

Well, I've been waiting for this moment for quite some time and the 4th of July seemed like the right date for it. I declared independence from my hair and shaved it all off! I was very excited to do this pre-emptive strike on my head. Kim wasn't so excited about the idea and tried to put it off numerous times. My reason for doing this now is that I know I'm loosing my hair and I accept the fact that I will one day be a bald (handsome of course) man and saving it will be a necessity some day. You see so many guys in denial about their balding with comb-overs and other nonsense when they should just embrace what they have been dealt and move on. I believe it's better to shave the head BEFORE you need to do it instead of doing long after you SHOULD have done it. I have every intention of growing it back out this winter (when it's getting colder) and then revisit the idea of shaving my head next summer again.

I set up the video camera on a tripod on the basketball court in the back yard and let it run while Kim took the clippers and took it all of. Here's the "before photos":

Let the shaving begin:

Of course, I forgot to take some photos when we were completely done!

We went to my office to watch the fireworks and my camera took a few nice shots of the actual fireworks:

After the fireworks we went home and had a fire in the backyard and roasted some marshmallows:

Finally you get to see the cue ball in all it's glory!:

Kim and Mattie decided they needed to look a little goofy since I was stealing all the attention with my bald head:
