Mackenzie has learned to smile on cue!



Mommie and Mackenzie enjoy the last days of summer:


Our 2nd cousin Susie Ogden and boyfriend Gary from Iowa came to visit us for a night. Susie has been very helpful with my family tree research for the Cremer side of the family. They were out in Colorado for a vactaion and had time to stop in for a quick visit. Mattie Marie was so taken in by Susie. I've never seen her become so attached to someone so quickly. They played Candyland together and was very helpful in the pool game! She was so upset when they had to leave. Mattie wanted to color her a picture for Susie to take home with her and was so sad when they had to leave before she finished the whole picture. It was so sweet.

Mattie and Kim went to Six Flags. Mattie had her first roller coaster ride! She's always talked about going on the roller coaster when she gets bigger and she was just tall enough to go on the kiddie coaster. It may be small but it does go pretty fast and shakes the kids up quite a bit. She wanted to go on it so here she is before it takes off:


After they go around one time they stop the ride and ask if anyone wants to get off. If you want to stay on you need to give the "thumbs up" signal. Mattie didn't know how to give the "thumbs-up" so she gave a "on finger and a thumb" signal. I heard it was adorable. Several of the other kids got off but Mattie wanted to go around again.


Kim got this action photo. Mattie had her hands up for about a second before she went back to holding on:


Taty, the nanny, often takes Mattie and Seth out to the park and library. She meets a lot of other nanny's and little kids at these functions and has become good friends with them. They have little parties together and Taty took Kim's camera to one of the parties:

Mackenzie can't decide from minute to minute where her emotions are sometimes. I guess she's going to be a typical woman!
