Alden's birthday, Mattie's preschool and a hike in Boulder

One of Mattie's preschool friends, Alden, had a birthday party at a children's haircare salon. It's called "Lollilocks" and Mattie and Mackenzie had their first haircuts here. It's a really fun place for kids. The birthday parties had their hair done, got their toes painted and all dressed up as princesses. It looks like they all had a really fun time:

The birthday girl, Alden, is the one with the glasses:

Mattie's preschool had a lemonade social for the upcoming year's class at the schools playground:

Our 7 year wedding anniversary was August 18th. We had our traditional lobster feast:

We drove up to Boulder one weekend in August for a family hike along the Boulder Creek:

Grammy and Grandpy's visit and Mommy's Birhday

Kim's Dad and Step-mom came in to town from North Carolina. Mackenzie showed off that she can take a few steps on her own:

Kim's birthday was on the 11th. The kids gave her the stepping stone they made:

The adults went out for dinner on Kim's birthday:
We had cake for Kim at home:
The girl's had a blast playing with Grampy and Grammy:

Grammy's birthday was around the time they were in town. MM and Mack helped open Grammy's gifts:

After a rain a beautiful double rainbow appeared over our house. I couldn't get the 2nd rainbow to show up in the photo but I can tell you it was spectacular!:

Meeting Dora the Explorer, MM gets wet and making mommy's stepping stone

The children's TV network, Nickelodeon, had a street fair near our house. Mattie, Mackenzie and Jonah all got to meet "Dora the Explorer". For those of you older than 8, Dora is a cartoon character who is bi-lingual and teaches kids how to speak Spanish. It's a really cute show and very educational:

After meeting Dora, MM had to hit the showers... I mean water fountains: Did she get drenched or what?:

For Kim's birthday, Mattie and Mackenzie make a special cement stepping stone for the garden. Both of the kids helped out and made hand imprints:

Mattie was so proud of her work:
