Halloween
We had a full week of Halloween activities planned starting with a party at our neighboors house on Saturday night the28th. The 4 of us had our costumes on. Can you guess who we are?
Mattie was Curious George, Mackenzie was a Banana, I was the Man in the Yellow Hat and the best costume was Kim who went as an Animal Rights Activist who wants to take George back to the jungle where he belongs! If you know the story from the book, George was really tricked and kidnapped by the Man with the Yellow Hat from the jungle and taken to the city to be his pet. The story isn't very politically correct. George smokes cigars, gets in trouble and at one point sent to prision! Kim had stickers on her shirt that said "Free George! Monkeys belong in the Jungle" and "Don't teach Monkey's to smoke". It was really fun.
Sunday afternoon the 29th we had a big Halloween party for the kids in our backyard. We had 15 to 20 kids over for pancakes and a pumpkin pinata filled with snacks and toys. All the kids (and adults) had a great time and the weather was beautiful. We may need to make this an annual event:
The weather on Halloween night was as usaual quite cold. It never fails that the weather is crummy for the kids on Halloween night. That didn't stop us from getting the kids all bundled up for Trick or Treating. Seth (Tigger) and Jonah (Hockey player) joined Mattie for a trip around the block. The kids we're sooo cute together. All the adults on the block get together in our neighboors yard (Kelly and Chris) to have drinks, food and provide a "one-stop candy shop" for all the visiting trick or treaters.
